Cole West is the Founder of Pelagic Asset Management and BluFin Real Estate, bringing a leadership track record shaped by institutional experience and full-cycle execution across multifamily real estate. Prior to founding his firms, Mr. West served as Vice President of Development and Investments at Houston-based 13 Interests, where he oversaw all phases of the development lifecycle for the company’s multifamily portfolio across Texas and Alabama. In this role, he provided strategic oversight to internal teams, venture partners, lenders, and property management, ensuring successful transitions from construction through lease-up and stabilization—delivering results through disciplined processes and collaborative execution.
Previously, Mr. West was a Development Manager at Lennar Multifamily Communities (LMC), a subsidiary of Lennar Corporation, where he managed a pipeline of over 2,300 units across multiple asset types including infill, garden-style, and active adult communities. His scope spanned from projects from site selection and entitlement through construction, JV structuring, lease-up, and investor relations. Prior to LMC Mr. West held positions at Jevan Capital PLLC, an opportunistic multifamily investment firm overseeing the capitalization, asset management and project management of the company’s portfolio between Arizona and Texas. His early career included experience in multifamily investment sales at CBRE in Phoenix and in multifamily operations with Greystar.
